Brisbane: 13.th Global Conference on Ageing

Euskirchen, 2015

21.06.2016

On behalf of the Conference Organising Committee, Council on the Ageing (COTA) Queensland and the International Federation on Ageing (IFA), it is our immense pleasure to invite you to join us for the International Federation on Ageing 13th Global Conference, Disasters in an Ageing World: Readiness, Resilience and Recovery.

The Conference will be held at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre from Tuesday 21 – Thursday 23 June 2016. The program will primarily focus on Disasters in an Ageing World, reflecting on both natural and man-made disasters. We will explore approaches to risk reduction, readiness, resilience, response and recovery with the goal of understanding how to establish and design more age friendly, disaster prepared communities. The Conference will incorporate international keynote speakers, oral presentations, posters, exhibition and social events.

Brisbane provides a beautiful location for the Conference with its picturesque winding river, attractive modern buildings, a thriving retail centre, excellent restaurants and most importantly – year-round pleasant weather. Brisbane is a diverse city with one of the fastest growing economies in Australia. It is a city of alluring character: from its distinctive architecture (the charming ‘Queenslanders’ and worker’s cottages that line inner-suburban streets) to its swimming beach right in the middle of the CBD.

We look forward to welcoming you to Brisbane.

Reminder to submit your abstract
Abstract submission closes on Thursday 5 November 2015 (AEST). Please note all presenting authors will be required to register and pay for the Conference by the author registration deadline on Saturday 30 January 2016.

Mr Peter Howells
Chair, Council on the Ageing Queensland
