Los Angeles: 3rd Annual Conference on Art, Neuroscience + Psychiatry

02.11.2018

Art and neuroscience provide complementary perspectives on the human experience. While the artist creates works that capture exterior and interior worlds, the neuroscientist elucidates how the brain sees, experiences, and remembers these creations. This two-day conference brings together leading neuroscientists and artists---including Herb Alpert, Jared Diamond, Gayle Brandeis, Antonio Damasio, Andrea Ghez, Michael Govan, Vijay Gupta, Kay Redfield Jamison, Daniel Levitin, Elyn Saks, Diana Thater, and others---for interdisciplinary exploration of the nature and neuroscience of creativity, intelligence, and genius. Areas of discussion at this year´s conference include writing and language, music, visual arts, and the connections between mental illness and creativity.
